ERIKA HAMILTON

Erika’s journey has been flourishing on a number of ever expanding stages. Originally hailing from rural, small town Ohio, her first moment in the spotlight came at an ABC affiliate in the bigger city of Cincinnati.

After earning her BA in Communications at the University of Cincinnati, she was able to leverage her degree into working with the local Sports Team at WCPO, reporting on the Bengals and Reds. Sports Reporting, a career path she likely would have enjoyed, if life hadn’t offered other plans.

A competitive gymnast & dancer by training, Erika has never had a problem with that first step. With grace and dignity, Erika left Ohio for Philadelphia where she danced and did community outreach for the 76ers Dance Team. She had her share of struggles, but the east coast taught her how to hustle. Soon she found some success and at one point she landed on the cover of The Daily News as ‘Philly’s Sexiest Single’. An unceremonious title she was happy to leave behind when she was invited to join the New York Knicks Dance Team. Which at the time was widely recognized as a pinnacle stage for dancers.

It was under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden that Erika was soon discovered. She was featured prominently in the first-generation Ipod ads and her solo role opposite Bob Dylan, was noted in Steve Job’s biography by Walter Isaacson as the most important commercial of that era for Apple.

Talent agents swooned. Her charm and sly comedy found her an early role opposite LL Cool J, who in the spot, is too shy and awkward to approach her.  On screen, Erika has worked with some of the biggest and most renowned directors including Martha Coolidge, Mark Romanek, Frederick Bond, Tony Kaye, The Pelorian Brothers and Anne Fletcher to name a few. Clients as wide-ranging as Facebook, Nike, Volvo, Under Armor, Cisco, Old Spice and Jose Cuervo have leveraged her emotive eyes in service of their brand.

Her early success landed her in Hollywood, the grandest stage of all where along her journey, Erika has opened the door to the next chapter— writing and producing films that better represent her unique worldview. JOURNEY is her first, a film she will shoot this fall.

Erika currently lives in Santa Monica Canyon with her two children Charley and Baer and her husband of 7 years.
